Cassia Eller, pop/MPB singer who was enjoying enormous success over the last decade, died December 29th in Rio, at age 39. Physicians and relatives disagree on what would be the cause of death, most probably related to drugs, alcohol and the stress caused by over 100 shows during her last CD's promotional tour.

After her appearance in Rock in Rio, she recorded Acústico MTV, which had sold in excess of 400,000 copies before her death.

Cassia has left an 8-year-old son, Chicão.
