Two of the most respected jazz magazines in North-America included Brazilian music albums in their year-end reviews. The retrospective on the magazine Downbeat points out João Gilberto's João Voz e Violão ouvir 30s (which has received a Grammy nomination), Milton Nascimento's Milton, and Virgínia Rodrigues' Nós. The three albums got rated 4 and a half stars (out of 5). João Gilberto is also indicated by critic Doug Ramsey, from the magazine Jazz Times. That same article brings a list of Brazilian albums only: Nana Caymmi's Sangre de Mi Alma ouvir 30s; Rabo de Lagartixa's Quebra-Queixo; Carlos Malta's Pimenta ouvir 30s; Pedro Mariano's Voz no Ouvido ouvir 30s; Ladston do Nascimento's A Voz do Coração; Tom Jobim's Jobim and a three-disc Tom Jobim compilation, Raros Compassos, 1 ouvir 30s, 2 ouvir 30s and 3 ouvir 30s.
