Brazilians in the Latin Grammy
Gilberto Gil runs for the maximum award of the event, which also features Bebel Gilberto, Planet Hemp and Faces do Subúrbio

Gilberto Gil was nominated for the "Recording of the Year" award - the most important of the event - in the 2001 edition of the Latin Grammy, which will take place in September, in Miami (USA). Gil is running with the song Esperando na Janela, taken from the album As Canções de Eu Tu Eles - the CD was also nominated for the "Best Album" category. But the singer from Bahia is not the only Brazilian in the event. Bebel Gilberto was nominated for "Best New Artist"; Planet Hemp (A Invasão Do Sagaz Homem Fumaça ) e Faces do Subúrbio (Como É Triste de Olhar ) were nominated for "Best Rap Album"; and Marcus Viana was nominated for "Best Instrumental Pop Album", with the CD Terra.
