Carnival in Bahia does homage to Dorival Caymmi

The Salvador (capital of Bahia) City Hall has announced the official theme for Carnival 2001, the first of the new millenium. The homage will be done to Dorival Caymmi, who is not expected to appear on the trios-elétricos (trucks made into stages). What is confirmed, though, is the participation of Dorival’s offspring – Nana, Dori and Danilo, who will be on the main strips performing their dad’s carnival hits, like Maracangalha.
