Drummer Luciano Perrone dead at age 93

The innovative Luciano Perrone, drummer and percussionist, died on Wednesday at age 93. Along with maestro Radamés Gnattali, Perrone developed a new approach to traditional orchestra elements, making strings and woodwind instruments sound more percussive. The album Batucada Fantástica , from 1963, offers the best overall view of Perrone's lifetime achievemnts.
