Anthropologist Hermano Vianna, brother of the Paralamas do Sucesso leader, Herbert Vianna, has distributed a note to the press so as to clear up a few facts about the guitarist’s health condition. Herbert’s monoplane crashed into the sea on February 4th, killing his wife. The musician suffered serious brain and bone injuries, was in a coma and spent about one month in hospital.

Herbert Vianna is currently undergoing home care treatment and is unable to walk. Although his voice and speaking abilities seem to have been preserved, Hermano explains that his brother still lives in a state of mental confusion and that he forgets what is said to him in about five minutes, but this situation is expected to change within up to two years.

Hermano Vianna also said that efforts are being made for the musician’s children’s sake: the family has been spending a lot of time with the kids, playing and studying with them, and answering any questions concerning what happened to their parents, without trying to cover up the reality.

The anthropologist has promised to release notes on Herbert’s health improvements whenever possible.
