After 44 days, the leader of the band Paralamas do Sucesso, Herbert Vianna, has left hospital this morning, and was taken to his home in Rio de Janeiro. The musician will have a medical team at home during the first weeks, as a mini hospital facility has been arranged for him. Herbert is now paraplegic (can't move his legs), and the doctors cannot tell whether this situation will be modified in the near future. He arrived at the hospital in a coma, after a monoplane accident on February 4th, and gradually recovered his senses. His wife, Lucy Needham-Vianna, died in the accident. The songwriter has been speaking a few words in Portuguese, English and Spanish, but he still does not remeber the accident, and is not aware that his wife has passed on.
