The first of a series of debates on independent production this week in São Paulo enabled 30 indie labels from different States in Brazil to found an association. One hour of conversation about distribution and promotion difficulties was enough for the labels' representatives to approve the association.
"We have prepared a series of debates. We thought that a network of independent labels would be a natural result of the debates. But if everyone is on agreement, already, we can start discussing it right now", celebrated pianist Benjamin Taubkin, who planned the meetings with guitarist Edson Natale.
Some of the labels present at the debate are Lua Discos (RJ), Lapa Records (MG), Rob Digital (RJ), Tinitus (SP), Visom Digital (RJ), Nikita (RJ), Jam Music (SP), Gravadora da Universidade de Brasília (DF), Núcleo Contemporâneo (SP), Kuarup (RJ) and YBrazil? (SP).
