It's Artistas Reunidos' turn

For long years they were forced to live with an annoying tag, sometimes derogatory: "like father, like son". Turned partners as Artistas Reunidos (Reunited Artists), Pedro Mariano (son of singer Elis Regina and pianist Pedro Camargo Mariano), Simoninha and Max de Castro (singer Wilson Simonal's offspring) and Jairzinho Oliveira and Luciana Mello (singer Jair Rodrigues' offspring) managed to prove, in 2000, that they, too, are talented. To accomplish that, they relied on the support of the label Trama, headed by the young producer João Marcelo Bôscoli (son of Elis Regina and Ronaldo Bôscoli).

The turnover started out in April, when the CD Projeto Artistas Reunidos came out featuring live recordings of the collective shows that these artists were playing along 1999. Then, the solo albums began popping up, receiving good feedback by the critics and musicians. "They are the best, right now", guarantees producer and journalist Nelson Motta. "Trama is the Elenco of the new era", praised singer and songwriter Ed Motta, comparing the new label with the most creative recording company on the bossa nova days.

Two awards by the Associação Paulista dos Críticos de Arte (São Paulo Art Critics Association) also helped establishing the group members' skills by the end of the Y2K: Simoninha was appointed "best singer" and Max de Castro, "best new artist". Singer Pedro Mariano, on the other hand, achieved surprising sales figures with his Voz no Ouvido.
