Jackson do Pandeiro’s first biography is published, nineteen years after his death. Publishing house Editora 34 has scheduled the release of Coroa de Couro: Uma Biografia de Jackson do Pandeiro, by Fernando Moura and Antônio Vicente, for September. One of the main purposes of the book is to correct the contradictions and flaws in the musician’s biographic data, often perpetrated by Jackson himself - who is said to have confused dates and names for having remained illiterate until he was 35 years old. More than 200 interviews were conducted in order to compose the book, which will be illustrated by around 250 photos.
