She was once a vocalist with bossa trio Os Três Morais. In the 1970s, she was half of the duo Jane & Herondy, singing successful romantic ballads. Now, Jane Moraes is back in business with Clube da Bossa, a five-piece group of talented instrumentalists from São Paulo. The group is starting a long series of concerts in the largest city in Brazil.
"The idea is to rescue the sensitiveness, to allow people to listen to elaborate music again. The repertoire combines bossa nova and MPB classics, like Chovendo na Roseira (Tom Jobim), Batida Diferente (Durval Ferreira e Maurício Einhorn) and Com Açúcar Com Afeto (Chico Buarque), with a few jazz standards. Natan Marques (guitar), Clóvis Corrêa (piano and vocals), Vidal Sbrighi (sax and flute), Ipojucam Zwarg (double-bass) and Duda Peres (drums) complete the line-up.
