Rock In Rio: co-writer of <i>Esperando na Janela</i> swings the Roots Tent

During the break between underage American child star Aron Carter and Sandy & Junior’s show (both at the World Stage), the Roots Tent at Rock In Rio quietly received the creator of a huge MPB hit in 2000: accordionist Targino Gondim, co-writer of Esperando Na Janela, recorded by Gilberto Gil for the soundtrack of the movie Me, You, Them. As expected, he played his hit and also a number of Luiz Gonzaga ( Forró no Escuro, Capim Novo, Riacho do Navio) standards. His CD is coming out in March on Gil’s label, Geléia Geral.
