Rock in Rio: Ira! and Ultraje, hits only

ROCK CITY, 9:45 p.m. – The rock bands Ira! and Ultraje a Rigor gave a rock lesson to over 100 thousand people. Each band has been around for about 20 successful years, and both groups chose hit-only set lists, having the crowd sing along the whole time. Ira!’s mod set started first, with Gritos na Multidão, Dias de Luta, Núcleo Base, Flores Envelheço na Cidade and Isso É Amor, besides a cover of Legião Urbana’s punk anthem. Then Ultraje joined them for a version of Should I Stay Or Should I Go? (The Clash). From then on, it was Ultraje a Rigor’s turn to fire one hit after another: Ciúme, O Chiclete, Mary Lou, Sexo, Pelado, Filha da Puta, Inútil. They unexpectedly played a version of Black Sabbath’s hit Paranoid and finished with the memorable Nós Vamos Invadir sua Praia.
