Rock in Rio: Luciana Mello has her dad’s charisma

ROCK CITY, 6:10 p.m. – Singer Luciana Mello has definitely inherited a lot of charisma from her father, Jair Rodrigues (who had already blown away the audience last Friday), as proved during her lively set at the Brazil Tent. Combining the songs from her debut album, É Assim Que Se Faz, with MPB standards such as O Mar Serenou (Candeia) and Se (Djavan), Luciana pleased the teen crowd and had her brother, Jairzinho de Oliveira, accompany her in a few songs. Luciana tried a little funky dancing to a Furacão 2000 hit (read article), but didn’t quite succeed. Still, a cool show, anyway.
