ROCK CITY, 7 p.m. – The opening act on the third night at the World Stage was the pop band Pato fu, from Minas Gerais, and they had to get over themselves in order to pacify the rock fans that are attending the shows tonight. They scored by picking Capetão 66.6 FM to start their set, but then they went through ballads like Perdendo Dentes too soon. Clearly dazzled with the size of the crowd, vocalist Fernanda Takai claimed to be astonished and thrilled by being able to play on the same stage where Oasis would be performing later, getting mild reactions. But when she mentioned the excitement about sharing the venue with Guns’n Roses, the response was immediate. They did Canção pra Você Viver Mais, Made In Japan, Antes que Seja Tarde and John teased the audience, asking if the band should play something "heavier". The emphatic feedback encouraged the group. They did Licitação and finished with Metallica’s Enter Sandman. All in all, Pato Fu smartly sneaked out of experimenting distress by trying to give the public what it wanted
