Rock in Rio: Pop does not spare Engenheiros do Hawaii

ROCK CITY, 7 p.m. – On the second-to-last day of Rock In Rio 3, the band Engenheiros do Hawaii occupied the World Stage with a rather dull set. There was a small gathering on the front – certainly aficionados! Front man Humberto Gessinger and his troupe didn’t get anywhere near their counterparts that have already played the same stage, such as Ira!, Ultraje a Rigor and Barão Vermelho. Even their old hits, like Infinita Highway and O Papa É Pop seemed to be performed in a somewhat numb mode. There wasn’t a highlight in their set, the P.A. was bad; sometimes the vocals wouldn’t be heard due to the vocalist’s whisperings and the new arrangements for old hits didn’t excite the audience.

Using a song from their own repertoire, "Pop doesn’t spare anyone". Not even the public. Fortunately, it was just one hour’s sacrifice.
