ROCK CITY, 6:45 p.m. – The band Sheik Tosado, from Pernambuco, was first to hit the World Stage on the heavy metal night, finely dribbling the low levels of tolerance from an audience that is there to see Iron Maiden and offering a blend of heavy rhythms with frevo and folk beats from their northeastern state. In the beginning, water bottles hovered, but Sheik acted humble and furious, satisfying the crowd. They rolled over sound problems with cool tracks from their debut album (Som de Caráter Urbano e de Salão), such as Hardcore Brasileiro é o Frevo, Sheik Tosado and Zum Zum Pancada, "We gotta stop sucking on gringo bands", declared vocalist China, dressed up in a typical frevo costume. As a bonus, the band played two new songs: A Emparedada da Rua Nova and Corpo Seco.
