ROCK CITY, 6:20 p.m. — Due to Engenheiros do Hawaii’s delay to kick off the works at the World stage, Wilson Simoninha was able to do one of the longest sets, so far, at the Brazil Tent. The show that was supposed to feature songs like Aquele Gol, Ter Você and É Isso que Dá, from his latest album, Volume 2, was turned into a surprising and experimental presentation. He paid homage to his father, Wilson Simonal (with Tributo a Martin Luther King), Tim Maia (Primavera, Você, Azul da Cor do Mar) and Jorge Ben Jor (A Banda do Zé Pretinho and Zazueira). Jairzinho made a guest appearance to perform Ben Jor’s Bebete Vãobora. A gross organizational misshapen allowed Engenheiros do Hawaii to get on stage right as Simoninha was introducing his band members to the audience.
