ROCK CITY, 4:30 p.m. - Forget the teen night, last night, the families and the smell of shampoo. The typical regular at the Rock City today is male, not very clean, long-haired, moves around along with his gang and dressed in black, usually boasting an Iron Maiden or Sepultura T-shirt - both bands are headlining the World Stage tonight. The sun and the heat have been severe, yet there were souls brave enough to jostle in front of the stage at the Brazil Tent to watch rocker Supla's set. The son of the elected mayor of São Paulo kicked off his show at 3:30 p.m., when it was impossible to be standing without sweating too much, even because there are no shades around. During the 30-minute set, Supla did songs about his hometown São Paulo, about girls with colored hair (Green Hair), about guys (Business), about virgin girls (Virgens) and the inevitable hits, Garota de Berlim, which he originally recorded with German singer Nina Hagen, and Humanos, both songs takes from the repertoire of his former band, Tóquio. The kids were suffering from the heat; still, some of them managed to do a little pogo.
