Rock in Rio: Vinny dedicates his set to Carlinhos Brown

ROCK CITY, 9:30 p.m. — Vinny started out his set showing sympathy to Bahian musician Carlinhos Brown, who was the target of enraged rockers hurling plastic bottles at him on Sunday, the 14th. "I dedicate this set to Carlinhos Brown, one of the finest people I have ever met", praised the pop singer, getting a big hand from the crowd crushed inside the Brazil Tent. Vinny didn’t spare his hits, and delivered one right after the other. The youngsters raved to O Bicho Vai Pegar, Te Encontrar de Novo and Shake Boom. Vinny might not be a brilliant songwriter (and he doesn’t take himself that seriously, either), but he surely can make everybody dance.
