Sakamoto performs with Gil and Morelembaum

Renowned Japanese songwriter Ryuichi Sakamoto starts touring around Brazil today, accompanied by the Quarteto Jobim-Morelembaum. Sakamoto and the quartet will count on the guest appearance of Gilberto Gil. The repertoire is based on Tom Jobim’s songs recorded by the Japanese musician on a CD that should be coming out later this year. In recent interviews, Sakamoto has claimed that he has listened to Jobim’s music ever since his adolescence.
