Two João Donato CDs on Elephant Records

North-American label Elephant Records has scheduled for May the release of two João Donato CDs, firstly in Brazil. In the USA, the albums should come out on the second half of 2001. Recorded live in São Paulo, The Frog features Donato's trio (bassist Luiz Alves and drummer Cláudio Slon), accompanied by the Jazz Sinfônica, doing orchestra versions of hits like A Rã and Giolas Abertas. The same musicians accompanied Donato during the recording of the CD Brazilian Time, which includes unreleased songs, jazz standards and instrumental versions of Donato classics like Simples Carinho and Surpresa.
