Singer Virgínia Rodrigues performed on June 8th at the 25th edition of the Spoleto Festival USA, promoted by the city of Charleston in South Carolina. Presented by the American media as “Bill Clinton’s favorite singer”, Caetano Veloso’s goddaughter sang for an estimated audience of five thousand people - on a festival that mixes dance, opera, theater and classical music. Recently, The New York Times referred to Virgínia as “one of the finest voices that have come around in the past few years”.
